Sizing a Generator for a Tampa Bay Home

The single most common generator mistake is buying on price and discovering during the outage that the unit cannot start the air conditioner. Sizing starts with a list of what you actually need to run and the starting and running wattage of each item. A refrigerator runs on a few hundred watts but needs more than a thousand to start. A well pump is similar. A portable generator with a properly wired inlet is the practical choice for a great many families.
