What a Proper Panel Upgrade Includes

That means the weatherhead and riser or the underground lateral, the meter base, the service entrance conductors, the main panel, the grounding electrode system, and the bonding of your water piping and gas line. Inside the new panel we install a main breaker sized to the service, copper bus where available, a properly torqued neutral and ground bar separation, and breakers matched to each circuit's wire size. Florida's current code requires arc-fault protection on most living-area circuits, GFCI protection in wet locations, and a surge protective device on the service, which is why a panel upgrade is also the ideal time to add whole-home surge protection.
