Permits, Plan Review and the Jurisdictions of Tampa Bay

Commercial electrical work lives inside a permitting system that is more involved than residential, and knowing how each jurisdiction operates keeps projects on schedule. The City of Tampa, unincorporated Hillsborough County, Pasco, Pinellas, Polk and Manatee counties and the cities within them each run their own plan review, and most commercial build-outs require stamped electrical drawings, an energy code compliance form, and coordination with the fire marshal on exit and emergency lighting, fire alarm interfaces and occupancy requirements.
